Does a moss wall need care?

No. The moss is preserved and needs no water, no light, no fertiliser and no trimming. Just keep it away from direct sunlight, constant moisture and draughts, and it will keep its colour for years. Remove dust now and then with the cold setting of a hairdryer or a soft brush, do not vacuum it or wipe it with a damp cloth.

What is the difference between real moss and design moss?

Real moss is genuine, hand-picked and preserved moss. It feels soft, has the typical irregular structure and costs €89.95 per panel. Design moss is a replica, so it is not sensitive to light and is more robust, and costs €32.95 per panel. From a distance the difference is hardly visible, up close it is.

How much does a moss wall cost?

That depends on area and material. One panel covers 0.27 m². A feature wall 2 m wide and 1 m high needs 8 panels and costs €263.60 in design moss or €719.60 in real moss. Per square metre that is €122.04 and €333.15 respectively.

How many panels do I need for my wall?

Work out the area in square metres and divide it by 0.27. For 3 m² that is 12 panels including some waste. Every product page has a quantity calculator where you enter the wall width and height, and the right quantity is filled in automatically.

How is a moss wall fixed?

Glued with mounting adhesive or screwed, no substructure needed. The surface should be clean, dry and load-bearing. In a rented flat it is better to screw it or glue it onto a backing board, so the wall stays undamaged.

Is a moss wall suitable for a bathroom or kitchen?

Not for the bathroom. Constantly high humidity attacks the preservation, and the moss becomes brittle or blotchy. In a well-ventilated kitchen it works, but keep it away from the hob and sink. Living rooms, offices, hallways and bedrooms are ideal.

Does a moss wall improve room acoustics?

Yes. The moss sits on 5 to 6 mm of acoustic felt made from recycled PET, and together they reduce reverberation in the room. You hear the effect mainly in rooms with hard floors and few textiles. The larger the covered area, the clearer it becomes.

Care: truly none

Preserved moss needs no water, no light, and no pruning. Keep it away from direct sunlight, constant moisture, and drafts, and it will retain its color for years. It is not suitable for bathrooms, saunas, or outdoor areas, as the preservation can be compromised by permanently high humidity.

Installation without a substructure

The panels are attached with mounting adhesive or screws; you don’t need a substructure. The surface must be clean, dry, and load-bearing. If you are in a rental apartment, it is better to screw them in or glue them to a backing board so that the wall remains undamaged. Combining moss with other materials
