Mehr über Felt acoustic panels
Felt acoustic panels are the easiest way to make a reverberant room quieter. The panels in the Modular Wall series are made from recycled PET, come in 21 colors, and are glued or screwed directly to the wall. You don't need a sub-structure, and they can be cut to size with a sharp utility knife.
What the panels really do acoustically
Felt primarily absorbs mid and high frequencies, which is exactly the range where speech, keyboard clatter, and clinking dishes occur. Reverberation is noticeably reduced, voices sound clearer, and video calls become more pleasant. What felt panels cannot do: absorb low frequencies. They do not help with bass from the neighbor or booming machinery; for that, you need thicker absorbers. Honestly: In a room with carpet, curtains, and upholstered furniture, the effect is small. In a room with vinyl or tile floors, smooth walls, and few textiles, it is clearly audible.
How much wall area do you need?
As a rule of thumb: covering about 10 to 20 percent of the floor area with absorbent material makes a clearly perceptible difference. For a 12 m² study, that is around 1.5 to 2.5 m², or 6 to 10 large panels. The most effective placement is on the wall opposite the sound source and on the wall behind the desk. Even a single occupied wall area behind the monitor improves the sound of your own voice in a video call.
21 colors and three edge shapes
From Cotton White, Cashmere Grey, and Sand Beige to Sage Green, Teal Blue, and Ocean Blue, all the way to Cherry Red, Plum Purple, and Midnight Black. In addition to the straight edge, there is the Geometric Cut variant with a slanted surface and the bevelled version with an angled edge, which creates a fine shadow gap between the panels.
Two formats, one price advantage
The 52 x 52 cm format costs €11.95 per panel and covers 0.27 m², which is €44.26 per m². The 52 x 104 cm format costs €17.95 and covers 0.54 m², which is €33.24 per m². The large format is therefore about a quarter cheaper per square meter. If you are covering a continuous surface, this is the better option; the small format is the better choice for patterns and accents.
Installation without a sub-structure
Glue with mounting adhesive or screw directly into the substrate. It must be clean, dry, and stable. On woodchip wallpaper or loose plaster, it is better to glue onto a primed surface. In a rental apartment, it is better to screw or glue onto a backing board so the wall remains undamaged. Step-by-step instructions can be found in our guide Installing acoustic panels, including a surface test and cutting tips.
Combine with other materials
All panels in the Modular Wall series have the same grid dimensions. This means you can freely mix felt with real moss, real wood veneer, or natural stone. An overview of all materials can be found under wall panels.
